Rockford says goodbye to liaison for city, part of Sweden

ROCKFORD (WREX) — The community says goodbye to someone who has helped both Rockford and a part of Sweden grow.

Wednesday was a goodbye celebration for Linnea Bengtsson at Prairie Street Brewhouse. Bengtsson has worked as the international business developer for the industrial partnership agreement between Rockford, the city of Lidkoping and the county of Skaraborg, Sweden since the the relationship started back in 2006. Now, she is leaving the job to pursue other opportunities.

“It’s my own decision and I just feel like it’s time for a new chapter in my life,” she says. “But, I will miss Rockford so much. It is truly my second home and I definitely will come back and visit.”

Bengtsson adds that she will be moving back to Sweden after being in Rockford for more than a decade.
