FREEPORT (WREX) — Prom should be a night to remember for all the right reasons. That’s why Freeport High School is stepping in to make sure students don’t drive drunk.

The high school hosted an assembly Wednesday to talk to students about the dangers of driving high or drunk.

It was an all boys assembly. Teachers and faculty brought up how it could not only affect their lives but the lives of other people.

“It’s important that there are those kids out there that have each others back and protect each other from what could potentially be a life-changing accident of some sort that either affects them or someone else,” Mark Bigler said.

The school hosted an all girls assembly that covered the same topics in the fall.
