Man sentenced for murder of missing Winnebago County man in 2015

ROCKFORD (WREX) — A Loves Park man is sentenced for killing a man and hiding his body back in 2015.

James Doyle, 29, of Rockford, was sentenced to 30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

On April 13, 2015, the Winnebago County Sheriff’s started to investigate a missing person report for 26-year-old Moheb Diab. The report was filed Diab’s mother, who said she hadn’t seen him or heard from him in more than 24 hours.

On April 17, 2015, officers found Diab’s vehicle in the parking lot of 5300 block of Forest Hills Court.

During a follow up investigation, Doyle admitted to shooting Diab and concealing the body in the basement of his home. Officers found the victim’s body in the basement at Doyle’s home, 7702 Eastmont Ave. in Loves Park.

Doyle pleaded guilty to first degree murder and concealing a homicidal death.
