Chicago woman in custody after stabbing in Rockford

ROCKFORD (WREX) — A woman from Chicago is in custody following a stabbing over the weekend.

Police say Lsean Gilmore, 42, of Chicago, stabbed a woman and is now in custody.

Rockford Police say they responded two the 1400 block of Chestnut St. for an aggravated battery with a knife around 2 a.m. Saturday.

Police say while they were in en route for the stabbing, a 21-year-old woman was taken to the hospital with injuries from a stabbing.

Officers learned the victim was with a 28-year-old man. Police say the man had a domestic relationship with the suspect, Gilmore.

Authorities were located Gilmore Saturday afternoon and she was taken into custody. She is being held in the Winnebago County Jail.
