ROCKFORD (WREX) — You could change a life by eating a sub. All March long, Jersey Mike’s is raising money for the Literacy Council. This Wednesday, 100 percent of its sales go directly to that group.

It’s part of Jersey Mike’s nationwide “Day of Giving”. Last year the campaign raised nearly $12,000 for the Literacy Council.

The Literacy Council offers one-on-one tutoring for adults to help them improve reading skills to better their life. The Literacy Council is also known for sharing books with parents and their children in Family Literacy Program’s PACT (Parent And Child Together) sessions and Well Child Clinic visits.

Jersey Mike’s has two locations in our area, One at 6284 E. State St. in Rockford and the other at 1513 W. Lane Rd. in Machesney Park.
