ROCKFORD (WREX) – This weekend, you can catch a show in Rockford that features music, humor and sadness while helping a good cause.
Gateway Arts is putting on a production of Colors of Hope at the Nordlof Center. The musical will present points of view of life with cancer. It will focus on the view of the patient and effect it has on others like family, friends and doctors. Proceeds from the show will benefit St. Jude’s Children’s research hospital.
“Not only is it incredibly entertaining, but it does a lot of wonderful therapeutic things I think for folks that anybody whose coming in and watching the show, no matter to the degree that they’ve dealt with a terminal illness, cancer, things of that nature, I think they’re going to get something,” said cast member Andrew Harth. “They’re going to feel something out of this production.”
Shows are on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
