ROCKFORD (WREX) — If you’re a high school athlete looking to learn skills to prepare you for college, there is an event coming up in Rockford just for you.
A college combine and expo called Empowering Athletes For Life is this April at the UW Health Sports Factory. Students have the opportunity to take part in a combine-style assessment that will be seen by more than 30 college coaches. There will also be workshops covering topics like being financially ready for college and how to effectively search and obtain scholarships.
“It’s like a resume. It’s much more than just basketball,” Jack Holmstrom a basketball player with Guilford High School says. “It’s much more than how athletic you are, how good you are at shooting the basketball. It’s you as a person.”
The combine runs from April 12th to the 13th.
