ROCKFORD (WREX) — The public is invited to attend a meeting tonight with authorities to discuss flooding in Winnebago county.
The meeting was previously scheduled, and is not in direct response to ongoing flooding the county is experiencing right now.
At the meeting, Winnebago County authorities will discuss different topics concerning flooding, including changes in rainfall and streamflow patterns, the effect of the Fordham Dam on the Rock River levels and changes to the flood stage for the Machesney Park area.
“My hopes are that people will come there with a really good attitude even though it is very difficult times for them with the flooding,” said ComEd’s George Gaulrapp. “But they’ll listen to the gentleman with the National Weather Association, look at the data he is providing and what we can do to try to make improvements happen.”
The meeting starts at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Harlem High School.
The public is invited.
