Man arrested after police say he tried to rob Subway

ROCKFORD (WREX) — Rockford Police arrest a man who they say tried to rob Subway last week.

Donavan Ingram, 42, of Rockford, was taken into custody.

The incident happened on March 5th, just before 7 p.m. at the Subway on 11th St. Police say the suspect placed an order before implying he had a weapon and was going to rob the restaurant.

The employee at the counter ran away. The suspect then ran away without taking anything.

No injures were reported.

Ingram was taken into custody on March 6th when officers found him in the area of Roosevelt Road and 10th St. He is being held in the Winnebago County Jail.
