Beloit man arrested for 5th OWI

BELOIT (WREX) – A Beloit man is in jail this weekend after Police arrested him for his 5th OWI offense.

The Rock County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy stopped 51-year-old Justino Chaparro around noon on Saturday for speeding.

During the traffic stop, the sheriff’s office reports that the deputy smelled alcohol and asked Chaparro to step out of the car.

Officials say Chaparro admitted to consuming intoxicants before being stopped by the sheriff’s deputy and blew a .15 in a preliminary breath test.

The sheriff’s office says Chaparro was taken to the Rock County Jail and has been cited for operating after revocation, open intoxicants in a motor vehicle and speeding.

He’s being kept in custody until an appearance in jail court on Monday afternoon.
