A couple of teams from the area saw their seasons come to a close in the Sectional semifinals Wednesday night, as Harlem and Dixon both lost in their brackets.

In 4-A, Harlem fell to South Elgin, 57-35, ending the Huskies historic season. This was their first appearance in the Sectional round since 2002. Harlem got 17 points from Treye Tucker, but struggled to keep South Elgin big man Vincent Misczkiewicz off the boards. He finished with 17 points and 15 rebounds, leading the Storm into the Sectional final against East Friday night at Rock Valley College.

In 3-A, Dixon battled but fell short against Peoria Notre Dame, 46-39. The Dukes had a lead in the third quarter, but the Irish fought back to win down the stretch.
