Rockford man arrested for threatening teen on RPS 205 bus

ROCKFORD (WREX)- A Rockford man is in custody after police say he threatened a teenager on an RPS 205 bus.

Police were called to the area of Auburn and North Church Streets for a fight between two 16-year-old girls around 5:30 p.m.. Police say the bus stopped, due to that fighting. A 36-year-old man ran onto the bus and threatened one of them with what appeared to be a gun, according to police.

Police say he left the bus and went inside an apartment in the 1400 block of Auburn Street. 36-year-old Oscar Moreno was taken into custody. A BB gun was also recovered, no one was hurt.

Moreno was also wanted for domestic battery charges in Rockford.

He is now charged with aggravated assault, resisting a police officer, disorderly conduct and domestic battery.
