ROCKFORD (WREX) — Students with disabilities got to feel like star basketball players on Friday.
Guilford High School’s team for students with disabilities hosted a basketball game. The team competed against the Ogle County All-Stars.
Organizers say seeing the kids have fun is what putting on the games are all about.
“It’s just a really exciting time to see the kids’ excitement and how excited they get when everybody’s cheering for them or when they see their name in the stands and it’s just a very fun experience for everybody,” Special Olympics Assistant Coach Courtney Emmert said.
In the end, the Guilford High School team beat out the All-Stars 43-24 but as you can see, they all had a great time.
