DEKALB (WREX) — The snow and ice that fell overnight is causing Northern Illinois University to delay its opening Tuesday morning.
Beginning at 5:30 a.m. today, NIU’s DeKalb campus will be closed until 11 a.m. due to freezing rain. The university will re-open and classes will begin at 11 a.m.
The Rockford, Naperville and Hoffman Estates campus locations will operate on a normal schedule and classes will begin at 11 a.m. Lorado Taft will begin operations at 11 a.m.
Kishwaukee College in DeKalb is also delaying its opening until 11 a.m.
