ROCK COUNTY (WREX) – A Janesville man has been arrested for an OWI after Rock County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a crash on County Highway O on Sunday.
Deputies found two SUVs disabled in the roadway around 9:00 p.m., one of the cars had struck the other in the rear.
Sammy Bunker of Janesville was the driver of the SUV that hit the other car. Bunker showed signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested for OWI, and two counts of OWI causing Injury due to two other occupants being injured in the crash.
Bunker was previously found guilty of OWI causing Injury in 2009, and misdemeanor bail jumping for violating bond conditions from an OWI 2nd arrest in 2018.
A blood sample was taken from Bunker to determine his level of intoxication. The results of the blood
sample are not known at this time.
Bunker was also cited for operating while suspended, following too closely, and operating a vehicle without insurance.
Bunker will be booked into the Rock County Jail where he will have an initial court appearance on
February 11, 2019 at 3:00 p.m.
