Beloit murder victim identified

BELOIT WI – (WREX) – The man killed in Beloit over the weekend has been identified by the Dane County Coroner.

The man’s name is James M. Tomten of Janesville Wisconsin. Tomten was 28 years old when he died. The coroner says the preliminary cause of death is a result of homicidal firearm trauma.

Tomten was found dead in the 800 block of Vine Street in Beloit around 2:40 p.m. on Saturday. The murder is still under investigation Beloit Police and the Rock County Medical Examiner’s office.
