The Hononegah Indians boys swimming team remains the class of the NIC-10, winning the program’s ninth straight conference title at the championship meet on Saturday at Jefferson.
Guilford and the Belvidere co-op rounded out the top three team finishes at the NIC-10 meet.
In what was a prelude to the meet, the first event featured a neck-and-neck finish between Honoenganh and Guilford in the 200-yard medley relay. Jacob McCabe anchored the Indians to a first place finish in that event.
Jefferson’s newly renovated aquatic center will host more postseason swimming next week, with the boys sectional bringing local athletes back to the pool with trips to state at stake.
