(WREX)- A May trial date has been set in the murder of a 2-year-old Rockford boy whose body parts were found in a Chicago lagoon.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Kamel Harris will go on trial on May 15th for the 2015 murder and dismemberment of Kyrian Knox.

Harris and prosecutors aimed to end the case with a plea deal weeks ago, but that seems to have fallen through.

Prosecutors say Harris snapped when Kyrian, who was lactose intolerant, cried for hours after drinking milk.
