Multiple snow-related crashes reported in DeKalb County

DEKALB COUNTY (WREX) – The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office is reporting multiple crashes caused by slick and snowy roads on Saturday. Around 10 in the morning, officials reported a two car crash near Freed and Peace Roads.

Deputies say one car tried to stop at the intersection when it hit another car. One vehicle ended up in a ditch, the other in a nearby field. No one was hurt.

A half hour later, another vehicle hit a stop sign trying to avoid the previous crash. Official say snowy roads also played a factor both crashes.

Another crash later in the day sent one man to the hospital for minor injuries. DeKalb County officials say he lost control and rolled his vehicle along Chicago Road near Burma Road around 3 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies say that slick roads also caused that crash.

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s also reported a rear-end crash on Route 72 near Hayes Road. No one was hurt in that incident.
