City of Rockford declares snow emergency

ROCKFORD (WREX) – After hours of snowfall in the Stateline on Saturday, the city of Rockford has declared a snow emergency starting at 9 p.m.

That means odd/even parking rules will be in effect until the public works department deems it is no longer necessary.

Cars should be parked on the even numbered side of the street between 9 p.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. on Sunday.

Starting at 8 a.m. on Sunday, cars should be moved to the odd numbered side of the street.

Cars parked in violation of the odd/even parking rules could be ticketed.

Residential street plowing operations are expected to start around 9 p.m. Salt and plow trucks continue to work to clear main roadways.
