Child injured in Rockford house fire

ROCKFORD (WREX)- Rockford fire crews responded to a house fire int he 3800 block of 16th Avenue around 4:30 Friday afternoon.

The first engine on scene found heavy fire and smoke coming from the back of the house. The fire was under control in roughly ten minutes.

Two adults and one child got out of the home safely. The child was treated for minor injuries on scene and released to his parents.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
