Man found with urn filled with cocaine in Boone County

BOONE COUNTY (WREX) — A Wisconsin man is found guilty of delivery and possession of drug charges in Boone County.

On Wednesday, a Boone County jury found 36-year-old Kellen Horn of LaCross, Wisc., guilty of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.

The Boone County State’s Attorney’s Office says on Nov. 29, 2017, Illinois State Police stopped a vehicle he was riding in along Interstate 90. During the traffic stop, troopers found 135 grams of cocaine in an urn in the trunk of the car. Horn told troopers that urn contained his father’s ashes.

He’ll be sentenced on March 1 in front of Judge Robert Tobin. Horn faces between 9 and 40 years in the Department of Corrections. He must serve a minimum of 75 percent of his sentence.
