MACHESNEY PARK – In a heated battle for first place in the NIC-10 boys basketball standings, East got a huge night from junior Sincere Parker to beat Harlem, 72-48, and claim a two game lead over the Huskies in the conference.

Parker led the way with 37 points, helping the E-Rabs pull away in the second half thanks to some hot shooting. Harlem kept it close early, taking a lead in the second quarter before East took a 32-27 lead at the half. The E-Rabs came out of the gate strong in the second half, then put Harlem away late, outscoring the Huskies 24-6 in the fourth quarter.

With the win, East remains undefeated in NIC-10 play, with a busy weekend ahead. East plays at Freeport Friday night, then takes on Jefferson in the Rumble in the Rock at RVC Saturday afternoon.
