ROCKFORD (WREX)- Christmas may be over, but the Discovery Center Museum is still looking to help kids and adults get involved during the holiday break.

Holiday Hoopla began Wednesday at the museum, which houses activities that kids and parents can both participate in.

Kids can learn how to manipulate materials to make things like little train engines and sled ornaments.

“Kids need to keep their brains engaged,” said Corinne Sosso, Director of Education at the Discovery Center Museum. “Instead of being one some handheld device, let’s get them outside, let’s get them something that’s further away from them so they can engage in creativity, innovation and ingenuity.”

Holiday Hoopla runs until Sunday.
