Rockford man sentenced to 30 years in prison for shooting, robbery

ROCKFORD (WREX) — A Rockford man will spend 30 years in prison for shooting a man during an armed robbery.

Denzel D. Reid, 23, posted a Cragslist ad selling a cell phone and arranged to meet a man on September 24, 2015, in the area of 3100 Chateau Court.

When the man arrived, Reid pulled out a gun and demanded the his money. When the victim refused, Reid shot him. The victim drove himself to the hospital, where he was treated and released.

Reid was found guilty of armed robbery back in April.

After the 30-year sentence, Reid must complete 3 years of supervised release.
