ROCKFORD (WREX) — If you haven’t gotten your flu shot yet, you’re not alone.

A new survey says many people plan on skipping the flu shot altogether this year.

The University of Chicago surveyed 1,200 people nationwide and found that 41 percent of people have no intention of getting the vaccine this year.

Most people who are skipping the shot cited concerns about potential side effects from the shot.

The Centers for Disease Control recommends everyone over the age of 6 months receive the annual shot.
