Rockford Police: One man shot Tuesday night

ROCKFORD (WREX) — Rockford Police are investigating after a man was shot while going for a walk on Tuesday night.

According to police, it happened at the intersection of Green St. and Stewart Ave. just after 7 p.m. The victim told police he heard multiple gunshots and was hit by one of them.

The victim took himself to the hospital and his injuries are considered non-life threatening.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is being asked to contact the Rockford Police Department at (815) 966-2900 or Rockford Area Crime Stoppers at (815) 963-7867.
