ROCKFORD – After a scoreless first half, East exploded for four goals in the second half to beat Belvidere North, 4-0, and finish in second place in the NIC-10. Boylan finished off an undefeated run through the conference to win the league title. East’s Roberto Davila scored early in the second half to break the scoreless tie, then East opened the floodgates with less than 20 minutes to play, with two goals from Poe Reh and another goal from Leonard Ngongo.

In high school volleyball, Rockford Lutheran defeated Winnebago, 2-0, in a Big Northern Conference match.
