Rockford fire responds to multiple house fires Thursday morning

ROCKFORD (WREX) – Firefighters with the Rockford Fire Department were on scene of multiple house fires early this morning.

The first one happened in the 1400 block of 7th avenue around 3 a.m. When firefighters got to the home, they found flames coming out of the front of the house. Once the flames were out, the house was determined to be vacant.

Later around 6:30 a.m., firefighters were on the scene of another house fire. This time in the 3100 block of 8th street. The fire department has condemned that house and considers it a total loss.

No one was injured in either of the fires and both are under investigation. We will bring you updates as they become available.
