UPDATE: Janesville burglary suspect caught by police

UPDATE: JANESVILLE, Wis. (WREX) – A suspect wanted for two burglaries in Janesville has been arrested.

Jeffery Taylor, 37, of Evansville, was taken into custody late Tuesday night.

According to officials, the Beloit Police Department came into contact with a man matching the suspect description released by the Janesville Police Department.

During a follow up investigation, Taylor admitted to numerous crimes, including the two burglaries in Janesville.

Taylor is being held in the Rock County Jail.


JANESVILLE, Wis. (WREX) – Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a burglary suspect.

According to the Janesville Police Department, the burglaries happened at night after the homeowners fell asleep. Police say the suspect entered the two homes through unlocked doors and stole purses and wallets.

Shortly after, the suspect used the stolen credit cards at a Walmart. The suspect is seen wearing the same clothing despite the incident’s happening days apart.

Anyone with information about this suspect is being asked to contact the Janesville Police Department.

Officials are also reminding residents to lock all their doors at night, keep outside lights on and call the police if they see anything suspicious.
