Rockford man arrested on multiple drug, weapons charges

ROCKFORD (WREX) A multi-week investigation by the Rockford Police Department’s Narcotics Unit lead to the  arrest of a Rockford man on multiple drug and weapons charges.

Jonnie Watts, 35, was arrested Tuesday in the 200 block of Royal Avenue after multiple complaints of drug trafficking. Detectives located several ecstasy pills, heroin and two stolen handguns.

Watts is facing 5 charges including Armed Violence, Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin within 500 feet of a School, Unlawful Uses of Weapons by a Felon and two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Stolen Firearm.

Watts was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail.
