Rockford man arrested for Winnebago County GOP headquarters vandalism

ROCKFORD (WREX) – A man has been arrested for the disturbing graffiti found on the Winnebago County Republican headquarters.

Timothy Damm, 42 of Rockford, is being charged with criminal defacement of property after vandalizing the Winnebago County Republican headquarters over the weekend, officials announced at a news conference Tuesday m orning.

The vandalism appeared Sunday morning with the words “rape” and “shame” painted on the building. Officials believe it was related to the Supreme Court case involving nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

Damm posted bond and will be in court on Oct. 11.
