Work continues on downtown Rockford mural

ROCKFORD (WREX) – An artist visits Rockford Wednesday to leave her mark on the Forest City.

Kelsey Montague is painting a mural inspiring by Rockford on the building adjacent to Eddie Green Park downtown.

It’s part of the Forest City Beautiful initiative, which focuses on creating and maintaining landscapes in downtown Rockford.

Montague said she’s excited about getting the opportunity to paint the mural.

“This is one of my dream murals and that’s coming from…a dream list of murals I’ve always wanted to do,” Montague said. “So the fact that I get to do this massive tree house is really cool and something I’ve always wanted to do.”

There are other murals popping up in Rockford, including one on 6th Street.
