Lorikeet exhibit returns to Nicholas Conservatory

ROCKFORD (WREX) – A popular and interactive exhibit is back at the Nicholas Conservatory and Gardens.

The Wings of Wonder Lorikeet exhibit brings crowds of people every year. The colorful birds are staying in a special Lorikeet house that allows visitors to view them up close. Guests can even buy a cup of nectar at the conservatory to attract the birds.

“They’re really fun, they love people. That’s really the big draw is that they absolutely want to be your friend, they want to sit on your head and your shoulders and play with your earrings and give you kisses. So they’re just really really fun interactive birds,” said Lyndi Toohill, Nicholas Conservatory Manager of Education.

The exhibit runs until November 11.
