Hotter weather lingers this weekend

ROCKFORD (WREX) – The weather keeps the heat and sunshine going into the weekend! Saturday and Sunday will be almost copies of Friday’s weather.

For the rest of the day, look for a warm evening in the 80’s, then a slow drop to the 60’s later tonight. The weather remains clear and dry overnight, though patchy fog is possible by early Saturday morning. Any fog that does appear will clear out quickly after sunrise, like the last few mornings.

Both Saturday and Sunday will have highs in the middle 80’s, with a lot of sunshine. The nights should be dry and comfortable, with lows in the low 60’s.

The weather pattern becomes more active and offers more variety next week. We’ll see a few more clouds and the low 80’s early in the week, then showers and storms are possible Wednesday as the weather cools off briefly to the 70’s. Morning thunderstorms are possible Thursday, then the 80’s return for a day. After that, an even stronger push of cooler air drops temperatures into the 60’s for highs next Friday and into the weekend.
