Janesville Police search for armed subject

JANESVILLE, Wisc. (WREX) — The Janesville Police Department is searching for an armed suspect after an incident Thursday afternoon on Linn Street. During the incident, Wilson Elementary School was placed on soft lockdown while officers investigated the incident.

Around 12:30, police responded to 171 Linn Str. on the report of an armed suspect. The victim reported being punched and kicked by several suspects while inside the residence. The victim says one of the suspects had a handgun.

The suspects, one of which the victim was able to identify, left the area in a black SVU prior to the officer’s arrival.

The victim had minor injuries but did not want medical attention.
