ROCKFORD (WREX) – Entrepreneurs, web developers and others will be teaming up on Friday, Sept. 7 to start a new company in just over two days.
It’s part of Startup Weekend, which is held throughout the country, including in Rockford. Teams have 54 hours to create a company and present it to judges. Companies like Loot Crate and TripLingo were launched at Startup Weekends. The event can provide many benefits for entrepreneurs.
“Getting people paired up with a lot of people with different skill sets, maybe developers, coders, or designers, and then being mentored by skilled individuals, maybe lawyers or attorneys or business professionals throughout that weekend, it can really accelerate a person’s learning and develop their mindset to what it’s going to take to be an entrepreneur,” Thinker Ventures Managing Director Jason Todd said.
There are still spaces available to register for the event, which begins at 6:30 p.m. on Friday night and lasts through Sunday at Thinker Ventures. To register for Startup Weekend, click here.
