Convenient store robbed at gunpoint in Rockford

ROCKFORD (WREX) – Rockford Police say a convenient store was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday night.

It happened just before midnight at the Kwik Mart on the 1200 block of 7th Street.

Police say a masked suspect entered the business with a gun and demanded money. The suspect jumped over the counter, hit the employee with the gun and took money and alcohol before leaving the scene in a light colored vehicle.

The employee was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Rockford Police or Winnebago County Crime Stoppers.
