Comcast to boost internet speeds in Northern Illinois

Comcast customers could be seeing faster internet in the near future without any extra charges.

The cable and internet company announced that it will be increasing the download speed of some of it’s internet tiers in Rockford and northwest Illinois. The tier that will see an upgrade this month is the Xfinity Blast tier which will go up from 100 megabits per second to 150 megabits per second.

Also getting a boost is the Xfinity Extreme tier which will go up from 150 megabits per second to 250 megabits per second.

Nearly 75% of Comcast’s internet customers are subscribed to one of these two tiers.
