More than $100,00 in grant money is headed to a dozen Rockford area groups that help struggling youth and their families.
The Mill Foundation says this year’s recipients include Children’s Safe Harbor, KFACT, and Winnebago County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). About $110,000 in grants was divided among the groups that work with abused, neglected or at risk youth and families.
"Personally, it’s been very rewarding going through this process because you see the number of organizations that exist in this community that are doing great work with limited resources and a lot of dedicated people trying to improve our community and we’re just happy to be a part of that," Mill Foundation President Carl Ecklund said.
The Mill Foundation says this is its biggest day of the year.
