A Rockford company that has been in the community for decades is expanding. With it, it’s also adding jobs and looking for more opportunities to grow.
Rockford Ball Screw held a groundbreaking ceremony today at its location on Southrock Drive.
"We can tackle the jobs and the opportunities instead of waiting for them. Now we’ll be prepared to go get them," said Linda McGary, the president and owner of Rockford Ball Screw.
The company, which manufactures ball screws and guide rails, will build a 30,000 square foot building. With that, they’re also planning on adding about 25 new positions.
"You know we’ve been in business for 45 years and the name is Rockford Ball Screw. We’re staying here. We have good vendors and a good community and a lot of support," McGary said.
Area leaders say what’s good for Rockford Ball Screw, is good for the city.
"This is really wonderful. Rockford Ball Screw, a family-owned business, it’s something really wonderful that they’re using local banks, they are using a local construction company, and they are hiring local people."
