Plane crash in McHenry County leaves two with non-life threatening injuries

The McHenry County Sheriff’s office says a small plane crashed at the Galt Airport in unincorporated Greenwood Saturday morning.

Multiple departments responded to the Galt Airport just after 10:30 a.m. for reports of a plane crash. Officials say a 42-year old man was flying an Air-Cam plane with a 15 year-old passenger when for unknown reasons the plane crashed shortly after take-ff.

The pilot was transported by Flight for Life to a Libertyville hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The 15-year-old passenger was checked on by first responders on scene and was not taken to the hospital.

This is an on-going investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration.
