Auburn’s Muhammad makes college commitment

Auburn’s Yahmir Muhammad waited a little longer than most to sign his National Letter of Intent. But he waited for the right school to offer him a scholarship and it paid off.

Muhammad signed his letter to play basketball at NCAA DII Missouri University of Science and Technology, or Missouri S&T. He wants to study engineering, and the school offers a highly regarded engineering program. The 10th leading scorer in Auburn history is happy to have this done.

"Knowing how long it’s been as a process, so draining and tiring," Muhammad said. "When you finally sign it’s like thank you. I did it."

Engineering is a field that’s always interested Muhammad, who helped Auburn engineer many wins on the court over the past few years.

"I always liked fixing things and problem solving," Muhammad said. "My brother’s an engineer. So, sometimes I follow his path."

Missouri S&T competes in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
