Hononegah High School gets one step closer to completion of athletic facility

A new milestone was made Thursday morning at the former site of the Hononegah dome.

The final piece of metal was added to the frame of the new field house that has now been three years in the making. The field house will be larger in size, which will allow for more students and athletes to be able to use the facility. Organizers say the project is still on track. The next steps of the project include, adding more steel and laying bricks down on the outside of the building.

"Now watching this and seeing all the details that go into it to make sure that it will be a building that we can enjoy for the next hundred years," Hononegah Superintendent, Lynn Gibson said.

The construction is expected to be completed by the spring of 2019 and Hononegah says it hopes to have students using the facility in the fall of 2019.
