RACVB beautifies downtown Rockford with Peaches theme

Spring has sprung which means it’s time for Forest City Beautiful Week. This year there’s a special theme.

"There’s a peach theme going on that we will coordinate with our current banners as well as all of the celebratory banners for the peaches because it is their 75th anniversary," Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau Director of Destination Development Tana Vettore said.

The RACVB teamed up with the Rockford Peaches to get the anniversary celebration started early. Over 7,000 plants will be planted around town this week.

THE RACVB said the community has given it positive feedback.

"What I do have is many, many people telling me about what it used to look like, which we have many of those pictures, and its a significant change and how it’s just grown and enhanced our community," Vettore said.

The Peaches’ official celebration is later this month.
