Grocery store in Rockford’s Midtown closes, new store will open soon

A grocery store in Rockford’s Midtown has closed down.

Gray’s IGA Food Stores has closed its Broadway location. The owner of Gray’s said they sold the store last Tuesday, May 8. According to signs on the door of the building, remodeling is being done now and an Enrique’s Market will be opening in a couple of weeks.

When 13 WREX asked the owner of Gray’s why the store closed, he said they wanted to focus on the store located on Highcrest.

The store is located at 1210 Broadway Street.
