Mother’s Day marks the busiest day of the year for local garden nursery

Mother’s Day marks the time of the year when many are able to begin planting flowers in their yards.

Village Green Nursery says Mother’s Day is the busiest day of the year for them. The nursery was full of families and moms who were picking out their colorful flowers and plants they want for their own yards.

Village Green Nursery CEO, Jessica Salisbury says many families come in and pick out flowers as a part of their annual tradition, and many come through just looking forward to getting some color back in their yards again.

"People coming in as families, it’s a tradition for a lot of people. They usually go to brunch or come after church, then come to the store and pick out all their plants, so it’s really nice to see," Salisbury said.

The nursery says they usually see between 800 and 1,000 customers come through on Mother’s Day. They also say, one of the most popular items are their hanging baskets of flowers.
