It’s finally warm enough to enjoy the Rock River and to get more people out on the water, Nature at the Confluence is hosting a group paddle trip.
The trip is scheduled for May 12. It starts at 1 p.m. at Nature At The Confluence, 306 Dickop Street, in South Beloit.
The paddle trip last about two hours and retraces the route fur traders used to use back in the 1800s. It ends at Mackton Forest Preserve in Rockton.
If you have your own kayak or canoe, the trip is free. However if you need a kayak, organizers say rentals are available from Rocktown Adventures.
You must reserve rentals and shuttle services in advance of the trip by calling 815-636-9066.
Pre-registration is required and can be done here.
