Rockford native Fred VanVleet had missed four of the first five games of the Toronto Raptors’ first round series with the Washington Wizards, but his Game 6 return helped put his team into the second round.
VanVleet logged 19 productive minutes for the Raptors in a 102-92 series-clinching victory. He registered 5 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists with a +12 rating.
VanVleet suffered an injured right shoulder in the regular season finale, keeping him out of Games 1, 3, 4, and 5. He played just three minutes in Game 2.
The Raptors advance to the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the winner of the Cavaliers-Pacers series.
