Megan Hedstrom

Evening Reporter

Megan joined WREX in August of 2017 as a Multimedia Reporter. She graduated from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. She comes from Palatine, IL so she’s not too far from her hometown roots.

During her time at St. Cloud State, Megan was the Sports Director at the Campus News Station, UTVS News. She was also a reporter for both sports and news. Megan received an Upper Midwest Student Production Emmy Award for a sports feature and also received an Eric Sevareid Award and an SPJ Mark of Excellence Award for other feature pieces she produced.

This career has been Megan’s dream since she was in grade school, anchoring the morning announcements. Megan also had the privilege of working at WGN in Chicago as an intern for the WGN Morning News.

In her free time, Megan enjoys hanging out with her cat, Cleo. She also enjoys watching sports, shopping, and spending time on the lake with friends and family.

Little know facts about Megan:

  • Megan loves to watch Real Housewives. It’s a problem, she knows.
  • She played softball in college and was a pitcher/utility player at a Division 1 and Division 2 school.
  • She also did competitive gymnastics from preschool through high school.
  • Megan also loves to travel with friends and family.
